‘Out of the Box’ sculptures by Jurjen Semeijn. The Amsterdam-based creative destroyed the shoe boxes of the most recognizable sneakers and rebuild them by putting the destroyed boxes back together. Nice idea!

Based on Emanuel Leutze's (American: 1816–1868), Washington Crossing the Delaware, 1851, Oil on canvas; 'Jazzcats' has no source for an artist but is pretty damn epic and will appear on the next edition of Madlib Medicine Show, the 8th in the series, a jazz mixtape titled “Advanced Jazz”.

"This is the third work in a series: Raw Drug Raps Nº1. I’m creating these images by opening the original images of the artists in a text-editing program and manipulating them only by inserting their lyrics into the jpeg code. In the end the lyrics are never legible, yet they are being visualized in a way. This is a fun project and I think the resulting images describe my aesthetic perfectly." -Jermaine Davis. graphic designer/illustrator

It's official.

It was announced this morning that Banksy's first film, Exit Through The Gift Shop, will hit theaters in the United States beginning on Friday, April 16th in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Dates for additional cities across the country - including Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, and Atlanta - will be announced soon.

Over the weekend Banksy also released the official "one sheet" poster for the film. New Yorkers and street art fans will recognize the building in the image (and the street art and tags) as the iconic old bank building at Spring and Bowery in Soho.

Lewandowski’s ‘Mario’ Sculpture

Polish artist Kordian Lewandowski has taken inspiration from Michelangelo famous La Pieta sculpture and reinterpreted it using Nintendo characters. Lewandowski’s sculpture features Mario and Princess in place of Jesus and Mary from Michelangelo’s. Titled ‘game over’, the piece is made from polystyrene foam that Lewandowski carved in full scale using a chainsaw at first and more precise tools to finish.

Damien Hirst : “End Of An Era”

“The exhibition takes its title from the central sculpture in the exhibition, a severed bull’s head with golden horns and crowned with a solid gold disc. Suspended in formaldehyde and encased in a golden vitrine, this totemic sculpture acts as a powerful coda to The Golden Calf (2008). End of an Era proffers a sacrificial head, here dismembered from the majestic body of the earlier sculpture. While The Golden Calf symbolized the worshipping of a false idol, with End of an Era (2009) Hirst demystifies the biblical tale and, by extension, debunks his own myth-making,” quoted from press release.
