THIS!

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z is launching his first book on November 16th, "Decoded" in a sort of scavenger-hunt way, with pages of the book hidden in places that are meaningful to the man, including the bottom of the pool of the Delano hotel in Miami and underneath plates at the Spotted Pig in NYC. Clues to their location were revealed on Jay-Z.com, a dedicated Bing site, and Jay-Z's Facebook and Twitter pages—and discoverers win prizes along the way. On Thursday, Gucci revelaed that two pages of the book were located in the windows of its Fifth Avenue flagship, printed in the lining of a leather bomber jacket. Hova superfans—don't get your hopes us. When the book is released, the jacket will be gifted to Jay himself. (WWD)

"I'm a soldier of culture"

Ye's Access Hollywood Interview

MAAAD Quotes in this one

I think people are gonna get it. I think that, you know, pop culture tries to force feed a dumbed down version of everything, and people try to act like the fans are dumb. People are really not as basic as the media tries to make them out to be. No one’s that basic.

Any film with that set up, usually wouldn't have a victoria's secret model in it, or have explosions in it. Theres this place where art films lie, where commercial films lie and where music videos lie and I crashed it all together.

i try to make music that touches people because i feel like i am the people, i'm apart of them. I feel like I'm the only one thts exactly like how the people are at home. Ad being that that's the case I feel a responsibility o keep it real.

I pinpoint the grammies and the vmas because they have to take a responsibility they mean something to us. Little kids that 6 y/o are singing in front of the mirror, they're also thinking about their grammy speech or winning a vma.

I don't really care about me, I'll jump in front of a moving car for history.

They're just awesome, they're crazy awesome-On his live performances

I'm sorry, I have conviction.

Apple's Attention to Detail

“The average respiratory rate for adults is 12-20 breathes per minute, which is the rate that the sleep-indicator light fades in and out on most Apple laptops.”

Steve Stoute Feature in Time Magazine

Stoute is poised to translate the biggest trend on the horizon, what he calls "the tanning of America." The growing African-American, Hispanic and Asian-American populations together command an estimated $2 trillion in buying power. The tanning concept, he says, is built around not the physical reality of different racial makeups but rather what he calls "a shared mental complexion." To make a brand relevant, companies need to understand that multicultural advertising is no longer a niche strategy: multicultural is what America looks like.

And that is why I look up to him.

JAZZCATS CROSSING THE HUDSON

Based on Emanuel Leutze's (American: 1816–1868), Washington Crossing the Delaware, 1851, Oil on canvas; 'Jazzcats' has no source for an artist but is pretty damn epic and will appear on the next edition of Madlib Medicine Show, the 8th in the series, a jazz mixtape titled “Advanced Jazz”.

"This is the third work in a series: Raw Drug Raps NÂș1. I’m creating these images by opening the original images of the artists in a text-editing program and manipulating them only by inserting their lyrics into the jpeg code. In the end the lyrics are never legible, yet they are being visualized in a way. This is a fun project and I think the resulting images describe my aesthetic perfectly." -Jermaine Davis. graphic designer/illustrator

Tim Burton @ MoMA

Opening yesterday and running through till April 26 next year, Tim Burton is exhibiting a host of drawings, paintings and sketches all of which have been collated throughout his illustrious career. The exhibition takes place at New York’s Museum of Modern Art where further Burton works will be available to purchase. This video gives a fairly in depth behind-the-scenes insight to the way in which the exhibition came about, and what it means to Mr. Burton. If you’re in New York over the period, get down to this one and see how many pieces you can spot that inspired or are inspired by the films of the celebrated director.I gotta see this

Extras

These photos by Miranda July and Roe Ethridge (for Vice magazine) have been inspired by the movies... but not the stars, the extras! Those necessary people that contribute with their presence on the films and those that we don't remember seeing. Good Idea.
