Pursuit of Passion: Diversity in Advertising
Directed by Tomas Whitmore P.O.P. (Pursuit in Advertising), is a documentary made for the American Association of Advertising Agencies to highlight the lack of diversity in the ad-world. "The ultimate goal is to inspire the next generation of creatives to pursue their passions, and put the Advertising Industry on their radar as a prosperous career choice. At the end of the day, this is a very important project both socially, and for the industry, because they can only survive with fresh, young talent that is reflective of the world we live in, diverse and full of color."

THIS!
Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z is launching his first book on November 16th, "Decoded" in a sort of scavenger-hunt way, with pages of the book hidden in places that are meaningful to the man, including the bottom of the pool of the Delano hotel in Miami and underneath plates at the Spotted Pig in NYC. Clues to their location were revealed on Jay-Z.com, a dedicated Bing site, and Jay-Z's Facebook and Twitter pages—and discoverers win prizes along the way. On Thursday, Gucci revelaed that two pages of the book were located in the windows of its Fifth Avenue flagship, printed in the lining of a leather bomber jacket. Hova superfans—don't get your hopes us. When the book is released, the jacket will be gifted to Jay himself. (WWD)

The Nike Air Royalty from the upcoming Vach Pack. The high top sneaker comes with a Harris Tweed and leather upper, giving the sneaker a high end look. The Harris Tweed logo tag is boldly featured on the tongue of the sneaker. It will be released on October 22nd. (clearly i have been meaning to post this, ah well)
and while we're on the subject of MTV
“Oh snap…MTV (Illuminati’s favorite network) back on the attack…why can’t y’all just chill out? Salacious banality [at] the speed of light?
I think I’ve been very good natured with you. I personally know several employees of your company. You guys know me as well. I’m confused. Where is the true music journalism??? Where is Suchin?!! What happened? Where are the honest critiques of cultural expression?
For it’s not about being RIGHT it’s about being HOT. Fame over self-awareness and virtue. Hedonism over self respect. Celebrity over cerebral. A destroying force in our culture and society just like rest of the useless vapid spectacles that pour out of our tv’s and radios.
What are we supposed to be learning from you? What is your point? Do you have a point beyond corporate sponsored distraction? [You’re] a materialistic shell of your former self that can only identify with celebrity pageantry and instant gratification. Corporate garbage pushing plastic lifestyles and wasteful, destructive behavior into the brains of the youth of the world.
So when your relevance thins [into] a whisper & the stock price collapses and you have [to] come [to] grips with the mess you made. I’ll be here [for] ya. We’ll be here. With hands full of baby powder [to] smack some sense back into your body & a warm shoulder to cry on. We want the REAL MTV back!”

Ye's Access Hollywood Interview
MAAAD Quotes in this one
I think people are gonna get it. I think that, you know, pop culture tries to force feed a dumbed down version of everything, and people try to act like the fans are dumb. People are really not as basic as the media tries to make them out to be. No one’s that basic.
Any film with that set up, usually wouldn't have a victoria's secret model in it, or have explosions in it. Theres this place where art films lie, where commercial films lie and where music videos lie and I crashed it all together.
i try to make music that touches people because i feel like i am the people, i'm apart of them. I feel like I'm the only one thts exactly like how the people are at home. Ad being that that's the case I feel a responsibility o keep it real.
I pinpoint the grammies and the vmas because they have to take a responsibility they mean something to us. Little kids that 6 y/o are singing in front of the mirror, they're also thinking about their grammy speech or winning a vma.
I don't really care about me, I'll jump in front of a moving car for history.
They're just awesome, they're crazy awesome-On his live performances
I'm sorry, I have conviction.

Pearl Necklace
Pearl Necklace is a seemingly amorphous cast silver shape on a chain that is actually an accurate representation of semen. It is a visual marker of chaos turned perfection through an act of beauty and lust. Pearl Necklace is a physical reminder of a fleeting moment of pleasure. - I think this is really cool

Since I have 2 weeks worth of posts still saved to my computer...
I'm gonna put up some of this Tupac stuff I was gonna post on the anniversary of his passing
“We don’t need no more rappers, we don’t need no more basketball players, no more football players. We need more thinkers. We need more scientists. We need more managers. We need more mathematicians. We need more teachers. We need more people who care, you know what I’m saying? We need more women, mothers, fathers, we need more of that. We don’t need anymore entertainers.”
— Tupac
I was always intrigued by their relatonship
